Mees gets into a twist

Colorful activities in De Glind – Today Mees had a quick prep for the morning; then it was a full day of fun with the theme for the day, “het kleurenfeest”. In the living room, Mees started with a painting activity. Using a cotton ball, and his fingers, he chose colors and put them on a paper. A nice earthy finish to his art work. Next activity was a balloon game. Mees stood in his statafel and played with Hong. The goal of the game was to not let the balloon touch the ground. Mees caught the balloon and hit it to Hong. He did his best and had fun. Then it was a break and Mees relaxed on the waterbed. 

Break time over and next up, a dice color game with Merelieke and Hong. He rolled the dice and followed instructions on the color he rolled. He had to clap his hands, give the dice to another player (he chose Merelieke) and make the lama toy sing and dance by pushing the red button. After this, Mees played twister with Hong. He sat in the t-lift and played the game with his feet. An easy start, but after a while his legs were crossed and it was more difficult. LL and Mees got even more twisted up before the end of the game. Mees enjoyed. Next activity was shuffleboard (sjoelen) at the table. Mees helped slide the colored pegs towards the goal. He got close, but no goals. Mees found this game the least interesting of the day. 

For the final game of the afternoon Mees had a color race outside. He enjoyed being outside. He raced against Hong to collect all the red colored items first and drop them into a basket. During the second race, Mees collected the orange items for the basket. Both times, he was the fastest. Wohoo! After the game, Mees helped unpack his suitcase while listening to stories. Then it was time to go hang out with papa. Mees was cheerful in his living room and enjoyed listening to the nice music Joost was playing.

Cheerful. A little bored at times today and sleepy while waiting for a game to start. Enjoyed the more interactive, active games and being outside the best. Was more alert then. Was gezellig with everyone there today – Klik ‘read more’ voor meer foto’s  – Laura Lynn
