Soldier Mees

Pakhuis museum in Ermelo – Today Mees had soldier training at het Pakhuis museum in Ermelo. He had specific tasks to complete. But first, some fun. Mees enjoyed checking out a 3D spiral patterned room and then dived into some archeological work. He dug bones out from the sand and brushed them clean. He worked on a tangram puzzle, smelled different scents like lavender and patchouli, played a Roman style domino game and then a bullseye game. 

Now, it was time to start his training!! Task number one: Kracht Opbouwen. Mees was supposed to do push ups, but he was stronger than this and did weight lifting with the bench instead. Show off! 😂 Task two: Marcheren. Mees marched around the other room with the soldiers on the video. Task three: Brug Bouwen. It was a bit tough to find the best solution to hold 4 unica (100 grams) of weight. The bridge collapsed a few times, but in the end Mees managed and the task was completed. Good job! Task four: Zwaardvechten. This was leuk! Mees and Merelieke had a sword fight. Both fought well and are now ready for the battlefield. Last task was Schild Maken. And now, after all the tough training, Mees earned his Soldaat Diploma! He is now a qualified soldier in the army of the Roman Emperor!!
