Avifauna

Avifauna, Alphen Aan de Rijn – Was leuk for Mees. He saw penguins and a few birds before going to a bird presentation. There he saw several birds close up as they flew over his head and landed in front of him. An Aasgier bird cracked open an Ooievaar egg with a stone. And Zwarte Wouw birds caught their food in mid air. After the show, Mees learned about penguins as they were fed fish; and then went to feed the Lori birds. The Lori birds were a bit crazy. Jumping all over everyone to get the drinks. Mees had a try at feeding the birds more than once. At first he was a bit overwhelmed and surprised by the birds, but then he relaxed and laughed. He didn’t care for the birds landing on his head though. We looked at more birds and lemurs after this. Learned about the lemurs and one even jumped on his arm rest. 😬 Looked at night birds and tropical birds before finishing our outing. He also tasted some ice cream, which he found cold but lekker.
